Emilie Devillet A Star In The Making?
Date: Saturday, February 11, 2012 - 18:42 (Eastern) Author:darkraptor
Many Jurassic Park fans have ideas on how they would like the next installment of Jurassic Park to be. Many of us dream about taking part in the adventure perhaps even dream about being in a jeep, speeding down a dirt road while being chased by a Tyrannosaurus. One fan has taken her ambition to the next level.
Emilie Devillet personally wrote a storyline for Jurassic Park IV, wrote a scene and drew a storyboard as well as making two videos which she sent to Dreamworks in a bid to get the attention of Steven Spielberg and other bigwigs involved. Sadly her package was delivered back to her two months later unopened. Emilie now has added a video on Youtube in another attempt to get her message across that she would be willing to help out.
Check Emilie’s video out:
We managed to get a hold of Emilie and we picked her brains about why she was so eager to get involved.
Here’s what she had to say:
What inspired you to want to be featured and or work in the JP Franchise?
I love dinosaurs, always have and always will! So, the JP films are a blast for me as it is the closest we have to see and hear real dinosaurs!
I, like many fans over the world, have been waiting since 2001 to get another JP film. So, last summer, when it was confirmed that there will be another JP movie, I thought: "Emilie, this is an opportunity that won't occur again, you have to do something to get a job on the set!!!". And that's how it started.
How long have you been acting? Thanks a lot for calling that "acting"! I've been in school plays in primary school and I've followed theatre lessons for a couple of years. People always tell me that I should be an actress but I've never had enough guts to actually go to a casting (I'm almost certain I don't fit physical criteria’s as I'm super tall and as I have a scar on my forehead lol!).
What would it be like to be featured in JPIV? It would be a dream come true and even more than that; words are lacking to express how thrilled I'd be! I'd need some kind of assistant to pinch me all day long just to be sure I'm actually awake!!!
How old were you when you saw the first movie? I was 8! I have a vivid memory of that screening: I empathized a lot with Timmy's character 'cause we were about the same age and I was terrified when the T-Rex attacked the car and I don't know how I managed to watch the kitchen scene (I was half hiding my eyes, that probably helped!)!
Your Video is very creative and charmed a lot of us on staff how long did it take you to make? Thank you so much! Well, the ideas came super fast. Writing the text, drawing the storyboard (which is essential to visualize the film and helps gain time during the shooting) and finding the accessories (hope the "Dr. Grant" style is recognizable) took the longest, I'd say about ten hours. The video was shot in a day and the editing process took a couple of hours. You can at least double that as there's another video which is not meant to be upload to the Internet ;)
What is your Favorite dinosaur? Wow, that's hard! In the meat-osauruses category, I'd have to say the T-Rex with the raptors as close seconds. In the veggie-sauruses category, I'd go for the triceratops and the iguanodons (as we found them in my country, Belgium and I like how their thumb spike was a lethal weapon against their enemies).
And finally...
What is your favorite scene in the franchise? I've had a JP marathon today in order to pick just one scene and...I can't! I love these movies so much, it's impossible to choose! I guess all the scenes including dinosaurs could be my favorite... My favorite movie, though, is the first episode and my favorite character would be Dr Grant although I would want Ellie's legs and I'm attached to Timmy too...See?! It cannot be done!!! Oh, I've got one tiny scene that I adore : the electric fence scene; "that was great"!
