Childhood reinforcing experience in form of dinosaurs, an awesome setting, thrilling reciprocity(the climax especially), technology that has the flashy new look and ofcourse the incredible story which isn't just Frankenstein repeated but Frankenstein in a unique level that exceeds even Frankenstein as a movie. Jurassic Park truly is unique.

Scientists re-animating a life form that they cannot control? Yep, that's definitely Frankenstein only Jurassic Park takes that to the next level of awesome(well, the first movie atleast).

Frankenstein and Jurassic share the same literary themes, pretty much, so comparing them as an analog is easy to do and completely sensible. Man creates something he cannot control which was intended for good (overcoming death, amusement park), said thing is uncontrollable due to human error or simple inability to control it and kills a shit ton of people, turning the scientist's dream into a nightmare.

What makes something 'Jurassic Park' to you?
Well, with projects winding to a close (we will have some treats available this... oh, June I think?  ), we're coming closer and closer to having the staff with free hands. We will be closer to calling JPL 'complete'. You know what that means? The staff can go out into daylight!More then likely we'd melt in the sun because of our lack of alpha and beta radiation doses from working on JPL. To avoid this travesty, we are looking for new ways to satisfy the JP community and provide new content and news while we wait for JP IV! However, in order to deliver the content that you want, rather then some crap with jurassic park glued onto the side, we need to know something... What makes something Jurassic Park to you? What makes a game feel like its a Jurassic Park experience and not just some game with the title slapped on? What about books? Scores? Post your deepest, and most heartfelt feelings in this thread and tell us!

what makes JP, JP to me...hmmmm. I think of it as a dinosaurs mixed with a human enviorment. Dinosaurs that aren't fully accurate. A rainy enviorment with destryoed vehicles and buildings. I'll start to make more JP-fan art soon, after my Zombie dinosaur drawing series. I always wonder when I'm in a forest or woods and my imagination goes wild b/c I think of JP.

Steven Spielberg, Michael Crichton and John Williams. Those three names ring Jurassic Park when I hear them. And like Das said, rainy environment with buildings in ruins. Everytime I go too deep into the woods, I say "Wow, it's like Jurassic Park out here

What makes something Jurassic Park for me? Hmm, in a movie: Dinosaurs in the nature, hunting, fighting or playing dinosaurs, maybe also dinosaurs in a dark jungle  In a game: When you can do something with the dinosaurs and not just shoot them and it should also be in the right environment.
