:: Frank Marshall says "Two years" for JP4 and Jurassic Park: Park Builder from Ludia

Frank Marshall is at it again, giving us some "news" about JPIV's development and eventual release that has yet to happen, if at all ever at this point. Pardon my cynicism everybody. Over in an interview at Collider, it's the same song and dance a bit, but this time we have an alleged release time.
During Steve’s interview with Marshall, he asked the producer for a status update on Jurassic Park 4, to which Marshall replied: “I would say that it will be on the screen within two years.” While it's a lot better than being called a "pipe dream" like Marshall referred to it a while back it's something after another news drought since the new writing team was appointed. Back in June, a new writing team was hired (Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver) to work their magic on the fourth film. Personally, I'm to the point with JPIV news that I won't believe anything until I've seen a press release about it physically from Universal direct. We have all been told it's "coming soon" for the last decade, actually since Jurassic Park /// came to theaters. All this back and forth is really, collectively, on the fandom's nerves or at least it's on mine. Given, good sequels take time and by far JPIV should have a story that's worthy of an award at this stage, at least that's the hope. We need a good sequel and if it's one of those "back burner projects" to milk the franchise the quality for that is going to speak for itself sadly. I urge Universal and "The Powers That Be" (Spielberg and company) to make a film worthy of the older and newer generation of fan's heavy applause and that even the general audience can also enjoy. After all, TellTale was capable of a great story that supplemented the film's franchise despite the gameplay issues the game itself unfortunately faced. I hope Spielberg and company can do the same. Show this franchise a lot of care as it's been under-utilized heavily where there is a lot of potential still for it.
Speaking of someone utilizing JP to its potential, Ludia (a mobile gaming company) created a Jurassic Park: Builder game. JP:Builder is available on iPhone and iPad and allows one to connect to their Facebook (part of a social game) and build their own Jurassic Park. I've been playing this about a week or so and I honestly have to say it's graphically nice and appealing and a lot better than Tap Jurassic and other "Dino Zoo" games on iPhone. There's some cheap elements to the game, such as "bucks" that you have to pay for (got to make money somehow) and the exclusivity of some items under these "bucks". You can also earn bucks by moving up in "levels". There's also the fact Apatosaurus is referred to as Brontosaurus. Overall the game exceeded my expectations and does give one that Operation Genesis feel while on the go. The ambiance of the game relies on sounds from the film, unfortunately when you tap on all of the carnivores, save for Velociraptor, they make the infamous Tyrannosaurus roar. Check out the description from the iTunes app store:
*** Welcome to YOUR Jurassic Park!*** Based on the ground breaking film franchise “Jurassic Park,” experience your own thrilling interactive journey on the mysterious Isla Nublar!
Here's your chance to build your own Jurassic Park from the ground up! As a Park owner, nurture and grow various dinosaur species through the discovery of amber filled with dinosaur DNA. With help from your friends, turn the DNA into eggs, place them in your park and grow them until they reach adult size. To evolve, your dinosaurs have to be fed plants or meat depending on their respective diets. As a Park manager, you'll need to make sure your park is constantly fueled with enough goods to feed all the dinosaurs by managing the flow of imports at the port. Finally, build a road for your visitors so they can go around and explore your creation.
To entertain your guests and collect more funds, you will have to be creative and decorate your parks and build various attractions and buildings such as amusement centers, hotels, restaurants, and security offices. ‘Code Red’ mode allows you to maximize your gains further and also prevent the dinosaurs from escaping and wreaking havoc on the island. But to access that mode, you'll have to grow at least 5 carnivores!
Along the way, you'll encounter familiar characters from the Jurassic Park movies such as, Dr. Ian Malcolm, or John Hammond, who will help you advance in your journey by giving you missions to fulfill.
Jurassic Park Builder features: • 30 different dinosaur species to collect & grow. • Live multi-player gameplay with Facebook friends and other Jurassic Park fans • Built-in social features (ability to visit, help and gift friends). • Stunning visual & audio effects with 3-D animations.

Begin your wonderful adventure and start building! Worthy of a download on your iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone especially since it's Jurassic Park!
