As the Jurassic World blu ray release day continues to get closer, the film is winding down its run in theaters. Based on studio estimates from 'The Numbers', Jurassic World dropped 39% from last weekend with an estimated $386,905 at the domestic box office this weekend. The domestic total now stands at an estimated $650.439 million.

A long list of accomplishments for Jurassic World just got a little longer as the film on Wednesday crossed the $650 million mark at the domestic box office according to 'The Numbers'. Jurassic World's domestic total currently stands at $650,010,785.
By hitting $650 million, it becomes only the 3rd film all-time joining Avatar and Titanic to do so unadjusted. It is also the second fastest film to hit this mark, doing so in 104 days. Avatar is the fastest, doing so in 58 days.
Also as of Wednesday, the international total stands at $1,011,445,564 and the worldwide total is $1,661,456,349.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Jurassic World has been nominated for "Outstanding Visual Effects – Feature Film" at the Hollywood Post Alliance Awards
Birdman was nominated for color grading, sound and VFX. In the later, the VFX work of the team from Rodeo FX will square off against this summer's Jurassic World and Tomorrowland (both nominated teams are from Industrial Light & Magic), as well as last year's The Hobbit: the Battle of Five Armies (Weta) and Into the Woods (MPC).

Director Colin Trevorrow joined the crew at Jurassic Cast Podcast for a follow up interview following the release of Jurassic World. He shared his thoughts on the film and even dropped some news nuggets in regards to the sequel that it due to hit theaters in June of 2018. The international total is an estimated $1.009 billion and the worldwide total is an estimated $1.659 billion.

Sad news to report this morning as helicopter pilot Alan Purwin, who worked on Jurassic World, and Carlos Berl lost their lives in a plane crash according to 'Variety'. The plane crash occurred on the set of "Mena", a new movie currently filming starring Tom Cruise.
A plane crash during the shoot of Tom Cruise’s movie “Mena” killed two and seriously injured a third person on Friday night in Medellin, Colombia, the Associated Press reports.
Cruise, a trained pilot, is said not to have been aboard the flight. The two people killed were identified as American film pilot Alan David Purwin and Colombian Carlos Berl. Another American pilot, Jimmy Lee Garland, has been severely injured and hospitalized in Medellin.
Our prayers go out to the families of the two men who lost their lives.

Thanks to a recent breakout performance in Japan, Jurassic World has powered its way to over $1 billion overseas, according to 'Variety'.
Underlining Universal’s stellar year, the studio’s “Jurassic World” has crossed the $1 billion milestone at the international box office.
The dinosaur action movie has become only the fourth title to reach the 10-figure mark, joining Fox’s “Avatar” ($2.027 billion) and “Titanic” ($1.528 billion) and Universal’s “Furious 7” ($1.162 billion), which crossed the threshold in April.
“Jurassic World,” with $647.5 million in North America and $1.64 billion worldwide, ranks as the third-biggest film as measured by worldwide grosses, trailing only “Avatar” at $2.79 billion and “Titanic” at $2.19 billion.
Jurassic World drops only 14% for Labor Day weekend

Based on studio estimates from 'The Numbers', Jurassic World only dropped 14% for the 3-day holiday weekend with an estimated $2.6 million at the domestic box office. The estimated domestic total now stands at an estimated $646.64 million.
